Forgiveness and Prayer Walks

Personality Disorder – “A set of behavior that is judged to be enduring, inflexible, maladaptive, disturbing, and impairs social functioning.” – Meyers

In English: those hurtful things we do that drive people away that we just can’t stop doing.

It is interesting how, sometimes, even certain areas of town seem to have a “personality disorder”. This article is about where they come from and the solution. The contents of this article aren’t part of a theory, I’ve seen it these principles work on a daily basis, and I didn’t invent these ideas either, they all come from the Bible, from passages we are all familiar with.

The Deep Discussion of “Forgiveness”

There is a lot written on the subject of forgiveness, though most of it never actually deals with the subject itself. We may tell stories about lost loved ones and then convince ourselves that we need to forgive our parents or friends who do hurtful things to us..

Twelve Standards of Christian Ministry

I.    “Ministry” shall be defined as a service on behalf of one that impacts another.  “Christian ministry” then shall be defined as “That ministry which personifies Christ’ ministry, demonstrating His conduct and producing His results.”  This requires use of His tools, specifically 1) faith in 2) the Holy Spirit; the source of His strength and direction. On any level of order, empowerment and guidance from the Holy Spirit requires: a) knowing and accepting the obvious truth, b) living in ongoing, unconditional, radical, emotional love with God, both always and at times of purposed solitude, and c) unabashed obedience to whatever the Spirit directs.  These were demonstrated by Christ’s life. (Josh 1:8; Ps 15:1-3; Mt 9:29; 14:23; 23:23; Mk 1:35; Lk 5:16, 20; 17:6; 22:32; Jn 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7; Rom 1:20; 5:8; 8:14; 1 Cor 1:18-30; 13; Gal 5:15-17; Eph 4:12-16; 6:18; Heb 6:10; 11:6)

II.   God, who created man, and is the original of which man is the image, gave us His Word to function as a written guide for living.

I Knew a Priest

I knew a priest whose ministry was good,
Serving God and people as best as he could.

But tragedy struck with his dissertation,
He exploited his weakness—the whole situation!

A doctorate in ministry: he joined the proud few,
By a paper entitled, “I’m Insecure, and So Are You.”

Irony divides, can’t make up its mind.
Where do we oppose and draw the last line?

Secureness in ministry is required by the Word.
And proving the obvious is truly absurd.

A man who would choose such a odd-sounding title–!?
Only love can dispute him, just even one trifle.

A ministry seminary being so dignified
By approving his work defines him “Unqualified.”

I should have known, I should have seen,
That a man so prone would soon have to lean
On opinions of others including his dean
To validate a mess Christian brothers can clean.

And the greatest victim, the most pitied party,
Isn’t a friend once held hearty,
But the man himself, whose papers were tardy
In proving an issue Christ can heal.  · · · →
